Pat's work unfolds at the intersection of theatre, dance and the live arts. She believes that the body is not only a vessel but a powerful site for exploring the complexities of power, labor, and survival. Her practice is rooted in the intersection of theatre, dance, and live arts, where she draws from both Eastern somatic wisdom and Western anatomical analysis to interrogate the mechanics of physicality. Through a fusion of gestures, text, and objects, her works strip away the superficial layers of performance and reveal the raw, unembellished act of labor. In her process, she challenges conventional aesthetics, seeking to dismantle the glorification of the body as an object of beauty and instead emphasize its function, its struggle, and its resilience. A Shell-NAC Arts Scholarship recipient, she holds a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts (Acting) from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (Australia), and a Masters of Arts from the National Institute of Education (Singapore). She has received residency support from The Saison Foundation (Japan), Geothe-Institut Singapore and was associate member at Dance Nucleus, a space for independent dance makers in Singapore. Her directorial debut Pretty Things was nominated for Production of the Year, Best Director and Best Ensemble in Singapore’s Life! Theatre Awards (2012). Her works have been presented in M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival (Singapore), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Liveworks Festival of Experimental Arts (Australia), CROSS Festival (Italy), Indonesia Dance Festival, NDA International Dance Festival (Korea), and HDX Dance Exchange (Hong Kong).
